QF never flew the 767 to New York. They did have an A330-200 do Auckland-Los Angeles which would connect with the flights from SYD/MEL/BNE . The A330 then did a NYC return and flew back to Auckland. The NYC flight went to the 747 when they stopped the direct Auckland-Los Angeles A330 servic...

Air NZ is good service wise, but the 10hr flight to Singapore from Auckland is uncomfortable enough in their below average economy and business. Can’t imagine 18hrs to NYC.

Ex crew here. Bags were supposed to be as close to your crew position as possible so we can keep an eye on them and access things if needed . So they were placed in the coat closet or if that was full, the overhead locker. It’s not to inconvenience anyone it’s just procedure.
