  • Dubai to build world

    Sep 09, 2014, 04:48 PM

Al Maktoum is horrendous--I flew through there a couple of months back. It's in the absolute middle of nowhere and took an eternity to reach there by taxi. Hopefully their plans include a fast train link to Downtown Dubai and to Abu Dhabi in the other direction.

  • Quite likely a dumb question, but with access stated as "The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge is open to business class passengers on Qantas and Oneworld partner flights", does this mean Cathay business passengers can also access the Qantas lounge? Or will they restrict Cathay passengers and send them to ...

  • Qantas partners with flydubai

    Oct 29, 2013, 05:47 PM

This is GREAT news! Working in Kabul, Fly Dubai has always been a good reliable option to get back to Dubai to connect to flights back home. Great to know we'll be able to check bags and get boarding passess all the way. Is there any information about when this arrangement will all be in place? ...

  • Strong flat white. Corn fritters with poached eggs on the side. And a glass of champagne, of course.

  • In this instance I wouldn't recommend transiting through Manila. QF and CX currently use separate terminals which aren't easy to transit between. (Although on a side note, there are rumours the Philippines Government is looking to shake up which terminals airlines use and Qantas might be directed...

  • Excellent value status runs can be done on intra-Asia flights on Malaysia Airlines. I knew I had lots of international travel ex-SYD coming up this year, so in January I did a few return flights (eg MNL-KUL-CGK) in Malaysia business class which were purchased during one of their regular sales. Ea...

  • In Manila: If you're just transiting and that's why you want to stay near the airport, pick a hotel depending on what terminal you land at. Terminal 3: the Marriott Hotel and Resorts World Manila are just across the street. Terminal 1 and 2, the nearest (good) hotels are a little further awa...
