    Got matched to Qatar Gold from Singapore Airlines PPS Club, was hoping for Qatar Platinum. Not sure whether I should ask politely. My husband also got matched to Qatar Gold from SQ Krisflyer Gold.Thanks for alerting us to this status match.

    Excellent review.  However, on a recent trip a few days ago, it was impossible to connect to the SKL  WIFI from my laptop.  The very helpful staff tried and tried but no luck.  In the end had to use the airport wifi.

    The only plus point on Citi is the complimentary insurance which DOES NOT require a return ticket, unlike the restrictive Westpac insurance that DOES require you to have an return ticket. But then most people do not use these complimentary insurance policies...

    Is it worth doing this if one already has Gold Status with another Star Alliance carrier?  Have PPS Club on SQ. Also, does anyone know whether the Air Berlin status match is still open?

    Thanks Patrickk. Seven Seas and similar have quoted about AUD 1,600 for 2 large suitcases totalling 60 Kgs. The discounted rate from SQ is 36USD/kg.

    Thanks to all for their good suggestions. The only downside I can see with AMEX is that they do not offer cash advance. Hence the need to also have a traditional credit card. In this respect the Aplify Rewards looks better. Other ideas?
