Me too. I plan to do Cathay until QF upgrade A380s to the J suites and then I will happily go via Sydney (from MEL). I just can't face 17 hours in any class - I need to get off the damn plane for a break.

Looks nice, can't wait to give it a try (and hooray for direct aisle access - shame that won't be coming to their A380s by the sound of it). Like the design reference / nod to the skybeds with the same strip along the side and rear seat pocket. Be interesting to see how the reviews stack up...

Nicely put. I agree that the QF service we experience today is miles ahead of the good old days (your call button point did make me laugh - I've had so many similar experiences in that regard and have quite a few peers who just refuse to fly QF internationally because of similar memories go...

I flew Melbourne-Auckland return in J last week and the service was excellent both ways... honestly have to say it felt like a great Qantas flight.

Interesting. I've always had very good experiences on A380 and A330, but man watch out for the J crews on 747s... I've had more than enough attitude over the years from that lot (and I'm not a demanding customer by any stretch of the imagination). I go out of my way to avoid 747s now....
