• Would be super disappointing to lose the Canberra lounge, as its always nice for a quick stop before flights. Would likely be the final straw that would mean we would give up trying to actively maintain our gold status - not that we are high value travellers for Virgin anyway, but have enjoyed th...

  • Oh NT surely you know that 5G is a mind bending, virus espousing conspiracy theory of the crazy nut job [Insert left wing/right wing depending on your political views] loopies, all designed to control us all forever in a day. :PI completely agree with your comment :)

  • Family pooling is the key one for me. My work travel is ad hoc at best (some years lots, some years little), but we travel as a family a bit - so it means I can maintain status off the back of that regular travel if there isn't so much work related travel. If that disappears, then I'll probably g...

  • I hope they keep the Singapore Air element of those alliances, and frankly ditch the rest. It has worked well, and we know Singapore remain keen to keep some form of interest, given their push through the bondholder offer.

It's hard to know, but what we all know is we need two strong competing airlines in Australia - not one. Even a shorter term 12-24 months in which there is only one would do immeasurable damage imho and should be avoided at all costs.None of this is to say Virgin hasn't been optimally managed - t...
