VH-AES, Hawdon was restored to flying condition by volunteer TAA staff in 1987-8. Hawdon operated TAA's first flight from Laverton to Sydney on 6 September 1946. The aircraft is used, now by QANTAS since the 'merger' with TAA (Australian Airlines) in 1992 for promotional and charitable flights.

I seriously doubt any airline would deliberatly board a flight to then just sit there for 4 hours and 40 minutes for no apparent reason. stevo, I was in exactly the same position as you will be, arrived in LAX with 700 SC's and about to travel AA LAX/ORD. I already had a boarding card issued at checkin in BNE that said QFF Silver so i asked the Admirals Club staff to check my status, sure enough it came back as "Oneworld Sapphire"...
