Virgin Australia has released the iPhone and Android companion app for its Global Wallet travel money card, and it's pretty much a must-have if you're packing a smartphone in one pocket and your Global Wallet card in the other.
It lets you top up your Global Wallet card on the fly...
... activate any of the nine 'virtual wallets' containing foreign currency...
... and transfer money between the card's wallets.
The app also holds your 'virtual card' at the ready.
This is one of the Global Wallet's best features: you can create an additional a prepaid Visa card with its own unique card number to use for online purchases, even within Australia.
Virgin Australia's Velocity Global Wallet app is now available for free download from the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.

Got my Global Wallet last week, even came with a little leather 'travel wallet', a nice touch from Virgin! The 'Virtual Card' feature is going to be very handy, although I don't think the exchange rates being offered are that fantastic.

My online verification stalled at electoral office check even though i have been at same address for yonks & known to 3 banks ,a credit union , council electricity etc etc . Phoned support ....no help , told to email docs . Did that once on another matter & got scammed ! Will try the Qantas card or stick to Anz/Cba cards.
