Virgin Australia's Velocity points transfer bonus ends this week

Got a stack of bank reward points sitting on your credit or charge card? Now's the time to cash them in, with Virgin Australia running a 15% Velocity Frequent Flyer points bonus through to the end of March -- which means you've got only a few days left to shift those points from the bank to Virgin.

Not every Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer partner card is part of the deal, though.

The participating cards are:

  • American Express Membership Rewards
  • Commonwealth Bank Awards
  • Westpac Altitude Rewards
  • St George Amplify Rewards
  • ANZ Rewards
  • ANZ Business One Visa
  • Bank SA Amplify Rewards
  • Bank of Melbourne Amplify Rewards

If you're an Amex cardholder enrolled in Membership Rewards Ascent Premium, double bonus -- you'll receive 30%  bonus points by transferring as little as 2,000 Membership Rewards points, with 100 Status Credits if you can shuffle 100,000 points from Amex to Velocity.

Bag news for Kiwis, though -- American Express New Zealand cardholders are specifically excluded from any points bonus offers.

To take advantage of this offer while it still lasts, zip straight over to the Velocity credit cards points transfer page (and take a moment to read through the 15 percent bonus points terms and conditions).

Points will arrive in your Velocity account in the usual transfer timeframe, and as ever, all transfers are final.

Not sure what to do with all those Velocity points? Virgin Australia's flexi fare to business class upgrades are 50 percent off until the end of April.
