Anyone know what is going on with QF 1 at the moment? Every flight delayed for several hours (had a friends journey blow out by over 24 hours because of missed connections)

QF 1 - should depart at 3.55pm

1 Jul - delayed to 10.35pm

2 Jul - delayed to 6.30am 3 Jul

3 Jul - delayed to 6.30am 4 Jul

QF 2 - should depart at 9.05pm

27 Jun - delayed to 10.30pm

28 Jun - delayed to 10.17pm

29 Jun - delayed to 9.47pm

30 Jun - delayed to 2.07pm 1 Jul

1 Jul - delayed to 12.00pm 2 Jul

Is there any flagship flight in the world with worse delays than this on a consistent basis?

Yes. Try any American Airline every day.

The flights to the USA look on time recently (across all airlines).

Seems to be a problem with QF1. Not sure if it is because of LHR or because of QF? One flight delayed is fine but this seems to be a rolling delay every single day?

It’s a three aircraft pattern, QF have 3 x A380 in service. It had an engineering issue last week which has delayed the QF1 & 2 for the past few days.

Thank you, that explains things. Do you know how long this will go on for?

Hi, we flew on the delayed Friday night service - the captain mention one of the aircraft had gone out due to a technical issue which created a significant ‘ripple’ effect.

I think qf1 on Wednesday night was the start of issues with a ~30 hours delay. Qf1 and qf7001 then left sydney about 3 hours apart on Thursday night to lhr. Given all these flight are full I don’t think they can do any thing but play catch up now hence the re timings.

I’m unsure exactly what the aircraft issue was but I’d be interested to know.

Heathrow baggage reclaim is also a mess - two hours from touch down to the first bags arriving. Pack your patience!

For anyone on the delayed service out of the Uk you can claim compensation if your flight arrives more than 3hrs delayed!! Don't forget to claim!

How do you claim compensation? My friend was told at check in nothing Qantas could do.

The EU compensation plan May work in the UK but it doesn’t not have to be upheld since. Brexit.

EU261 was adopted by the UK as UK261. Only difference is € amounts became £ amounts:

To claim from Qantas you need to fill in the customer care form on the website and wait…..

Thank you. I will pass this on. Are QF customer care quick or very slow with this usually?

Seems that extended delays are continuing

QF 1

4 July - delayed to 8.11pm

5 July - delayed to 9.48pm

QF 2 delays “only” are 1-2 hours now.

Looks like the EU compensation scheme only applies to UK or EU airlines arriving at Heathrow but any airlines out of Heathrow, so delays to QF1 wouldn't be covered, but delays to QF2 would be.

I am on QF2 next week, having flown over to Europe via QF51 then Finair. Everyone connecting onto QF1 was significantly delayed and I presume put into hotels as they were closing the lounges overnight. Am hoping that we are not over 3 hours delayed out of LHR so as I can connect onto QF52 back to Brisbane. Don't really want to spend 20Hrs in Singapore airport
