I have been Platinum with VA for 10 years in a row with my status review date being 28th Feb. On 3rd March this year I went to use my Platinum Upgrade on a flight I had just booked only to be told, that I had lost all the expired upgrades that I hadn't been able to use - despite trying to - on the 28th Feb and I would not get the next year's until after 14th March - apparently what is known as the "review period". I now have an email from IHG saying my Platinum Status with them (another virgin Platinum perk) has also been downgraded. This has NEVER happened to me in past years. Has anyone else had this issue with Velocity? Seems like time to work on Platinum One with QF rather than just Platinum on both.

Just a note to the original post, Yes I have received my "congratulations you have retained your platinum status for another year" email, and am still showing as platinum on virgin and velocity websites.

This is normal, your upgrades do drop off on your review date, automatically, from what I've seen over the years.

Quick question though, did you have enough status points to retain Platinum by the 28th of Feb, as in, were enough (800 + 8 sectors) actually sitting in your Velocity account (not waiting for points to land)?

There is a window after your review date which is purely there to allow for any late points to land in your account, should you not have enough by the review date.

If you did have enough by the review date, the new upgrades (should) immediately replace the old upgrades (whatever you had left, if any, drop off and you get 4 new ones), if there weren't enough points by the 28th you'd need to wait until any late lading points arrive (provided the activity occurred by the 28th of Feb.

Both my boss and I retained VA Platinum with by the required Feb 28 Review Date and both our accounts are still saying "Your Status is under review". We've both been Platinum for 4-5 years (and Gold for years before that) and I don't recall it taking this long in the past.

I also received 100 credits from a March 1st flight (SQ at 00:35 on 01/03), so hoping that all works out properly once my account figures itself out.

No, but the problem you describe reflects amateur hour at the VA Mothership.
