Hi Everyone,

I'm planning on purchasing a Singapore Airlines economy ticket to Singapore soon, but apparently because I'm not a KrisFlyer member i don't get to choose my seat. Is there another way in which i can select my seat or do i have to go through a travel agent? The reason i want to select my seat is to make sure I'm on the second floor of the A380, because apparently the experience is out of this world.

Can you book trhough a travel agent and ask if they can pre-select a seat? I was thinking of doing the same thing.

According the website:

If you are travelling in Economy Class, you can also request for a specific seat if you have purchased your ticket through our website.

You should be able to log into the website with your booking reference and select a seat still.

There are 2 configurations of the SQ A380. "V2" has business class the entire of the upper deck and thus, no economy seating. These aircraft are usually used on the long hauls.

The other confirguration (V1) has a small economy section at the back.

When selecting the seats on the website if you can't select "upper deck" then you're on the V2 configuration.

And yes it is indeed a better experience. A window on the upper deck is great becuase you're up high, it's quieter and you have a nice 'bin' next to you for storage plus the seating is 2-4-2 as opposed to 3-4-3 downstairs.

Hope that helps.

Or, credit the flight to Virgin Australia Velocity if you're a member.

(If that doesn't work, sign up to Krisflyer for free and put the number in the booking, select the seat, and then change it back to Velocity if you'd prefer to earn points with VA.) ;)

You can also pick and change seats on the SQ mobile app. You just need booking ref & surname

I'm booked on SQ economy on SIN-NRT-LAX this coming July. I am not a KrisFlyer member (I am an Aeroplan member) but I was still able to select my seats. You can change your seat and other information at any time via the manage booking section through SQ's website.

Why don't you just join? It's free so what's the hassle? You might want to check if upstairs is kept aside from higher status members though.

wozcor1 I have asked my local Flight Centre and they are able to select seats with Singapore Airlines.
