Paa it's called discussion ,you may not agree but the question was would it be possible or probable to have children free fights not banning children from flying.i for one would pay more for such a flight especially late night flights off 8 hrs or more but that's my opinion as one person .so you don't agree that's fine.

I agree. Maybe we should discriminate against bad parents and poor parenting skills?

I don't believe there is any legislation out there protecting poor behaviour or is there?

Closest thing would be Air Asia X - Quiet Zone? :) Pretty sure they only allow guests aged 10 and over in rows 7-14.

And that's why Etihad invented The Residence.

I think we're more likely to see child-free 'zones' in planes (i.e. the front half of Y) which makes more sense.

Or perhaps parents could just exercise greater discipline over their children.

On a recent flight I found myself in row 3 on a Virgin 737, and across the aisle was a father with his son and daughter both aged around 8-10. The father had obviously coached the two children that for the duration of the flight they were only allowed to speak in whispers, and this they did. I could see their lips moving as they whisphered to each other and their father, but I couldn't hear a word of it. Blissful! If only all parents were as good as that presumably Velocity Platinum father, we'd have no problems at all.

On the flipside, I'm encountering an increasing number of parents who think that the best way to keep their children occupied is to hand them an iPad with some noisy game or TV show plus no earphones. Parents of children presumably no longer even notice the annoying noises their children's iPads make, but the rest of us do.

Oh God, do not even start on the whole thing about parents handing kids iPads to shut them up so they can tune out.

Hugo, I have young kids, and second your rage over the iPad with no headphones. No-one wants to hear it! My kids always have their headphones in, and everyone is happy. Why do other parents think we want to hear their little bundles of joy play angry birds?

On another note, I was recently flying KUL-MEL in in 2A, and had to ask for the passenger in 2K to turn off mobile phone game, which I could hear over my head-phones!
