Agree re the length - but this may be the full promotional version of the video. I noted a number of transitions that could be cut down. I would assume the inflight version could be sub 4-mins.

It might seem a bit long now, but when you're actually on the plane waiting to take off, it probably won't seem so.

I think its great and does a fantastic job of promoting our beautiful country.

I'm a fan!

Disagree, once you're on the plane and have had your own IFE choice interrupted to get blasted with the safety announcment, it will seem even longer.

I quite liked it. Some nice scenery which showcases Australia pretty well.

I'm not sure.

Having no aircraft in a saftey video is odd but wierdly refreshing. I agree that it's quite long and can imagine more people won't listen or tune out half way through. I'm not sure about it.

I really like it, Qantas has nailed this one. They've really set the right tone.

I can just imagine the Qantas pilots ready to take off on the runway asking the controll tower permission to delay their slot because they were not even half way through their safety message yet.

Refreshing approach for Qantas to take - very much in the ilk of Air NZ safety videos and they do say imitation is the best form of flattery!!

I think this is great thinking from the Qantas marketing team and a pure stroke of genius. Well done Qantas! And unlike sgb I will be flying you soon.

Really great film and one could tell was weeks, probably months, of work from all involved. Does anyone think it might have done the film more justice being a welcome to Australia video rather than a safety video? I mean it highlights the beauty and diversity of the country's landscape better than current videos, especially Perth's video.

Either way, bloody brilliant

Frankly, I thought at the start that this was an Australian Tourist Commission ad - but as it progressed, I became more than a little impressed.

Good to see QF thinking a little outside the box and trying something a little more unusual. As for the length, yes - at just over 5 minutes .. well yes, but it is probably timed with Flight Attendant's 'live' performance in mind. And remember, it is an A380 specific edition. I wonder if there will be a 'modified' domestic and/or regional version?

In a nutshell, I think it's a great way to showcase the variety of Australian life to international visitors, somewhat entertaining for Australian nationals - and a vast improvement over some of the cringeworthy efforts of using sports people to promote 'safety' on a plane.
