Hi all, I am soon travelling to the UK, France and Italy and am looking for primarily a data sim to tether off a spare smart phone (I use a Travelsim for calls). I note that the best plans don't allow for tethering when out of the UK. Does anyone have any tips of a value for money sim to pick up in Aus or on arrival in London? Many thanks.
Just looking at the 3 website - tethering is deactivated when roaming. You might want to confirm before you buy it: http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Phones/Feel_At_Home (big red cross 3/4 down on the right side of the page)
I'm on O2 here in the UK and I had to request access to have it turned on first, not something I was used to when I was on Telstra/Optus back home where it's just always on by default.
if I have one other recommendation - make sure you buy any EU sims in the UK. Buying a sim in a foreign country can be painful (don't even try France as it can take a week to get your sim activated - true story!) - and the documentation and any SMS's you may receive won't be in English.
Thanks, I noticed that too, at one point it says you can use your phone as a hotspot then "feel at home" says you can't tether. I'll drop into a store on arrival and see what they can do.

Thank you moa999, that allows tethering and a good deal for 33GBP unlimited for a month.

I had no problems at Orange in Chamonix. Activated in an hour. Imagine they're more famiiar with Aussie customers there than other branches though...
