Just wondering what is the cheapest return business fare you have seen recently from east coast of oz ( mel or SYD) to europe with a first world carrier with fully flat beds? ( ie EK, SQ, new AF, CX, BA? QF?, QR, EY etc)
Just found AF Mel to CDG with sq then AF 773 for $5000 which looks pretty good!

$5,000 is good! Wow!
As a policy I never buy ex-AU J fares to Europe. Always cheaper purchasing the reverse.

There certainly was a time when purchasing ex-Europe was cheaper but that was pre-GFC, at least in relation to Sterling. The pre-crisis FX rate hasn't been regained, and won't be anytime soon.

Not necessarily....it depends on your departure point and how creative you are.

There were EY ones recently SYD-CDG for like $3900! My boss picked some up.
I know they're not exactly a first world carrier but the new Vietnam Airlines J has flat beds on their 787s and A350s and you can pick fares up regularly for below $4000

I've seen $5200 with EY and $5500 with QR, which are both good considering ten years ago I paid that for MH and KLM to AMS! $5k with a good carrier is a bargain. QF, SQ and CX wouldn't get near that price except rarely under codeshare legs.

this is sq to sin then af to cdg on their new product ( i would rate it better than cx, similar seating, newer, better inflight entertainment and wine) $5400 per adult and $4400 per child

Are you getting this fare through an OTA? I wasn't aware SQ and AF were partners. What is each flight marketed as?

available online through AF website, although I am using my agent. They also offer fares with EY and QF!!
The AF is AF flight the SQ is with an SQ number and hence the SC's and points can be allocated to VA

There's an EY sale on now, isn't there?
