My anniversary date is next march and I will fall 275 status credits short of P status. I have no international travel booked b4 then. I am time poor and cannot spend several weekends flying around Australia. Ideally I would wish for 1 flight.

What suggestions do you have to acquire these status credits in a time efficient and cost efficient manner. I could fly somewhere with the wife for a weekend and I have more than enough FF points to fly her anywhere in any cabin.

Your suggestions would be mst gratefully received

I need to accrue 275 SC's by next March.

I am time poor and wish for only 1 trip, perhaps with my wife for whom I can pay with FF points. Probably only a weekend.

I would welcome suggestions, also are Qantas likely to have any more double Sc promotions before then?

Is this to acquire Platinum? Or retain?

To get that level of SC earn you'll be looking at either a single trip in First, or a couple of biz class trips to either LA or Dubai (LA in biz for a Platinum is 180 SC).

Either way I'd recommend using their status points calculator to see where you'll get best value - then look for the best fares...

Given they did a heavy double SC promo earlier this year I can't see them doing it again this calendar year...

Where is your home port? Syd-LAX-Syd in business is 360 SCs. ADL-SYD-NAN and vv is 240 SCs - throw in a couple of domestic J trips to top it up.

If you don't want to fly as far out as DXB/LAX/DFW, then SYD - AKL - BNE - SYD with the SYD - AKL in F, and all the rest in J should do the trick.

Just make sure your SYD - AKL - BNE bookings are flying EK with a QF flight number.
You cannot combine a F and J flight online, so have to either do multiple bookings online, or phone QF tele sales.
It will not be cheap, but can be done in a weekend.
SYD - MEL in J and then MEL - SIN in EK F, then SIN - SYD can be done over 2.5 or 3 days.

Oh, one more thing, if you fly all in whY, you can do the whole booking online, but won't earn enough SC.  Flying from ABX (Albury) to SYD will give you whY 10x2=20, 240+20 (SYD - AKL F (120), AKL - BNE J (80), BNE - SYD J (40) =260 just right.

If you do all the booking in J, because ABX - SYD no J, you have split the booking, if wanting to do it online.
If you want that F, then have to split as well.
If you want to do one booking, part whY, part J and part F, then phone up.

Alternatively, as an existing Plat - you could simply do:

ABX-SYD (Flex Y at 20 credits), SYD-AKL (F at 120 credits) and return the same way - resulting in 280 credits total... and 13,400 points per person. Sample trip for the first weekend in February 2017 at today's QF website pricing, using sector fares:

ABX-SYD for Fri 3rd Feb [Y Flex $370 OW] - no J or F offered

SYD-AKL for Fri 3rd Feb [First Saver ($1385 OW) or First Flex $1550 OW]
AKL-SYD for Mon 6th Feb [First Saver ($1327 OW) or First Flex $1492 OW]

SYD-ABX for Mon 6th Feb [Y Flex $370 OW] - no J or F offered
