My partner (Gold) got a Qantas double status credit offer today, however I (Platinum)  did not. Is this usual?

Targeted marketing campaigns happen.

Generally it's for customers who explicitly meet criteria X, Y and Z.

It's not targeted.

There is a link on the Qantas homepage.

Possibly not all of the emails have been sent yet.

Apparently this particular promotion does not allow you to get to Plat One, I just spent the better part of half an hour clarifying this with the FF service centre.  Does anyone else know anything about this?  She said some double status promos do allow and some don't, this particular one does not, very confusing.

Thanks. But the link on the Qantas home page is for a different offer - double frequent flyer points, not status credits.

I got an email, there are 2 promos, one is double points on qantas/emirates and the other is double status (book between 4/9-8/9) for all eligible qantas flights, domestic and international.

My understanding is that it doesn't get the P1 loyalty bonuses which are tens of thousands of frequent flyer points for hitting large numbers of SCs for the year much higher than 3600. I think it does count towards P1. At least that's my understanding.

For now wait and see if you get the email. If you don't in the next few days register for the double points and use that if you want. I'm waiting to see if I get the email a bit late.

Unless the lady I spoke to did not know, but she did check with her supervisor a few times and had me on hold.  Be good if someone else is interested in clarifying with the service centre and see if what I was told is accurate.

"Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus or Platinum One Loyalty Bonus earn requirements".

That's the fine print I read that prompted my call.
At first I thought it was just the extra 50 loyalty SC's you can get if you choose, x 4 per year, that one I understand does not count, but like I said apparently in this promo no double SC's count towards getting to or retaining P1.

Well I think she's wrong. It's my understanding from reading the QF website that the Platinum One Loyalty Bonuses are as follows:
"To receive a bonus of 75,000 Qantas Points, you need to earn 5,000 eligible Status Credits within a single Membership Year.  To receive an additional bonus 100,000 Qantas Points, you need to earn a total of at least 7,000 eligible Status Credits within a single Membership Year.  Bonus Qantas Points can be used as you wish from the range of options available."

So any DSCs would not count towards the bonuses at 5,000 SCs or 7,000 SCs in one year.

It's my understanding that Status Tiers and Loyalty Bonuses are not synonymous to each other but mean different things even though they may be related.

I receive emails from Qantas for my other non-P family members. They received the promotion email of double points to Europe and double SCs worldwide. I did not receive it.

Ok, as at this morning I got to P1, and I rang the P1 service centre, yes they did confirm that you can use the double status promo towards attaining/retaining P1.  So that answers the question, thanks everyone for your comments.

I booked a few flights this week through the link that was sent to my email but there was not actual registration as per the last round of double SC offer.  When I rang tonight to speak to the customer service they said to call back and speak to QFF when they were open to confirm registration.  Have I missed something in the email or is someone able to post a link to where it says register properly?

Just to complete the story. There was a double status credits offer last week that was sent to targetted Qantas frequent flyer members only. There was also a double FF points offer for international travel open to all Qantas frequent flyers. While the latter was visible on the website, to my surprise, I did not get an email alert about the double FF points offer, even though I am on the Qantas alerts list.
