Hi All,

I am flying Brisbane to Miami via Adelaide and Doha in business class. Brisbane to Adelaide is on Qantas, the following flights are on Qatar. All flights are on the one ticket so I will check in at the Brisbane domestic terminal for all three flights.

Do I need a lounge invitation to get in to the Al Mourjan lounge in Doha (an invitation was required for the lounge at the old Doha airport) or will just showing my business class boarding pass suffice? If I do need an invitation what are the chances of getting one from the Brisbane Qantas domestic check in counter? Will the boarding passes issued in Brisbane be on Qantas paper or Qatar paper?

By all accounts it sounds like an excellent lounge, I would hate to get rejected at the door and directed to the inferior "business class lounge" that OneWorld status holders flying in economy are sent to.

A business class boarding pass for a QR flight is all you need.

No lounge invitation was issued by QR check in desk or required to enter the lounge when I changed flights in Doha a month ago.

Qantas will certainly not be able to print your boarding passes on QR paper.

You can ask QR gate agents in Adelaide to reprint them if you want.

Either way, lounge dragons in Doha will be competent enough to recognise that you are flying QR business class from whatever piece of paper you show them to prove it.

Somewhat off the topic of Lounge access I know but might be worth mentioning to you....

A couple of years ago I flew to NYC via Dubai on a Qantas ticket (QF to DXB then EK to JFK). The boarding pass for the Emirates flight to NYC was printed on a Qantas ticket that was issued in Melbourne. But when we went to board the EK flight we were informed that flights landing in the US had to be issued by the airline operating the flight.

They just re-printed the boarding pass at the gate in Dubai, but there was some confusion and it took them about 20 minutes to sort it out with many calls back and forth to other staff. For a moment I thought I might not be able to board... but eventually it was sorted out.

Perhaps check at the Lounge in DOH and get them to re-print if necessary there to avoid any issues and stress at the gate.

Enjoy the QR A350. It's a great flight to do in J!

Thanks Damien, yes I am really looking forward to my first time on an A350 - by all accounts both the hard and soft products are excellent!

love that business lounge at new doha, old one was good also. 100 % get a reprint at adelaide, they can get fickle if lounge busy . if any problems and you dont get in , go to desk and demand bonus points voucher, we got 40 000, went down stairs bought 2 seiko watches. was there for seven hours. went back 1 hour later after breaky trade finished and got in. good result, good luck.

Hi Billichka - you just need the business class boarding pass. And yes it is a beautiful lounge, i was just there 2 weeks ago for my fourth time. Boarding passes at Brisbane will be on QF paper when checking in at the Domestic International Connections counter.
