I've been looking on flight on flying Qatar Airways around October departing Perth and have noticed that it lists a 777-300ER as equipment. Is the A380 seasonal or do we have another repeat of the Qatar 787 ex Perth and Qatar A350 ex Perth and never actually see the Qatar A380?
At this stage the QR a380 is only operating the Perth run over the 6 month period from May 1 to October 27. After that - the service is downsized to a 777. Whether it comes back in May 2019 is yet to be seen.

I just booked departing Perth in late December and was definitely A380. Chose my economy seats with the family on Upper Deck. Have to slum it with the family in economy, but at least they get to go upstairs!

The QR A380 doesn’t fly into Perth.

This hardly makes sense due to the period from May 1 - Oct 27 is the quietest period for traveling to perth

Conversely, it is high season to Europe from Australia .. which probably accounts for QR's move.

Hmm that makes sense, weird that the initial announcements didn't mention seasonal on AusBT or other places.

It is year-round it is just NW18/19 season bookings are not yet available.
