Is every flight business AY (ticket)?

If yes - I think you could get Finnair Gold (Sapphire) for the trip!

Every leg is J class but AY flight number except the QF legs.

First trip got me to QF Gold. Second trip to QF Platinum. :D

How on earth did you get to Plat on that itinerary? I've grabbed the same excellent Finnair deal and am really excited for a trip in October SYD-LAX-JFK-HEL-MAD-LHR-HKH-SYD. On my rough calculation I'll get about 400 status credits from that trip. I'm gold already, and will (just) retain it based on current travelling patterns, but an extra 400 is not going be enough to bump me up to platinum.

DRW-SYD-HKG-HEL-MAD & BCN-HEL-HKG-SYD-DRW = 800 SC

DRW-SYD-SFO-HEL-BUD & FCO-HEL-SIN-HKG-SYD-DRW = 920 SC
Total = 1720 SC = WP :D

Based on above itinerary you posted, assuming you're in J class...you will net 780 SC. Not sure why you only got 400? Try using Qantas calculator to work it out yourself!

Get your agent to secure 2A/4A/6A as well as 8A/10A (if J class). Can also manage your booking on Finnair website if doing your own travel booking without agent. Usually available if tickets are booked early enough :)

Have 2A over and 6A return for Mum, already booked, so I think I have done well.

Slightly off topic, we have a 3 bag allowance on Finnair over and back to Singapore, but because we break for a day in Singapore the flight back on the A330 only has a 40kg allowance on Qantas with a QF flight number, which would be less than 2 bags. ???????????????, Travel agent has not been able to come back with an explanation.

Baggage rule depends on the flight code you are booked under. I believe in this case QF's baggage rule applies - 40kgs for J class with NO restriction on the number of pieces. The weight allowance is higher if you have high status with Qantas.
