Just wondering how to select seats and check-in on a U.S. domestic American Airlines flight booked with Qantas FF points. The Qantas website doesn't provide for this. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Berders,
I just returned from the US recently and did this same thing for one booking. I used the booking reference provided by Qantas which worked in the AA website . I am One World Ruby and was able to select my seat. As a Ruby you get one free bag included in your luggage allowance but this didn't translate over to the frequent flyer booking. I was asked to pay for my baggage however I advised I was a One World Ruby and showed them my frequent flyer card. They entered this into the system and I provided "QF" as the Qantas flight code which the service counter asked for. Hope this helps.

Yes. I had same experience as the above poster with baggage not carrying over on a flight from Vegas to LAX. Took AA like 45 mins to sort out - was a joke.

QF has only recently solved this issue. It use to be like the QF check in system doesn't recognise my OW Emerald and shows 2pcs for an award ticket booked with AVIOS, while the QF app clearly said I am entitled for 3pcs. Took the QF agent a while to finally allow the 3rd pcs for free.

I emailed AA and got them to add it to my AAdvantage account - selected a preferred seat free with my AA gold.
