What they will do is become part of your total annual status credit accumulation. I have just been advised of this bitter pill with my annual accumulation of 1390 status credits and hoping to slip into P with a loyalty bonus. Reality is that only actual flights and the status credits generated by them and nothing else will get you closer to the next lounge space, viz. business with Gold and 1st with Platinum.
Hi Otto. I think that's incorrect. The bonus status points count towards Platinum but not P1. They also don't count towards the loyalty bonus, only actual status points earned from flying get you the loyalty bonus. I have got myself to Plat the last 2 years with double status/loyalty bonus combos (less flying recently) and a cheeky AKL-WLG jetstar flight for the missing 10 status credits.

Not sure about the CL's or WP's however as a P1 I have never received any type of targeted SC or points offers. Other P1's I know have also mentioned the same.

The latest on the frequent flyer forum is that this may be the end of QANTAS's double status credit offers. We are being trained to expect it and there is too many of us in undeserving levels (me at platinum rather than gold!!!) and it is crowding the lounges and other costs. It seems it will be more targeted and won't let me wait to book the conference I have the dates for next year already to get the extra points . I thought it was about cash flow at certain times but apparently not, or rather it is no longer worth the cost elsewhere. Thank you QANTAS for my three years of platinum.

Hi fellow recreational travellers. See above previous comments about my perilous SC count @1390.
My wife and I will be travelling regardless with Q and whilst I was hanging out for the DSC to make my tally of SC more interesting, it won' t make any difference to our plans to travel to expand our learnings of the world in retirement in South America and Greece et al. With a wife at P and me at Gold, why am I too predictable to receive a targeted offer of any kind?

Seem like they are sending Targeted 50% extra status credits emails a day or two after do a search on a destination I was looking at Penang a couple of days ago and today I got a 50% offer for booking to Malaysia. My question is if I am traveling in a party of 4, does everyone get the extra credits or just me.
