Qantas deepens Air France, KLM partnership
There are now more options for points redemption plus first class lounge access.

Air France-KLM and Qantas are extending their long-standing partnership with fresh options for frequent flyers.
The news comes one year after the start of non-stop Qantas flights to Paris.
Air France is adding its flight codes to Qantas’ non-stop Paris-Perth route, unlocking a faster way to make the trek from France to Australia – which currently involves flying to Singapore and then connecting onto a Qantas flight.
Air France ended its own flights to Australia almost 20 years ago, which involved a stopover in Asia before landing in Sydney.
There are further sweeteners for high flyers, with Flying Blue members now being able to redeem their miles for Qantas' A380 first class.
Those open superjumbo suites are arguably a step down from Air France’s elegant 777 La Premiere berths, which boast a separate armchair and bed – or rather, a chaise longue which reclines into a 2m long, 75cm wide bed.

Meanwhile, Flying Blue members holding top-tier Ultimate status also gain access to Qantas’ first class lounges.
At the moment, this new arrangement appears to primarily benefit Air France and members of the Flying Blue loyalty program used by the French flag-carrier and its Dutch sibling KLM.
However, the airline says “the extended partnership provides passengers with more opportunities to earn and redeem Qantas Points when flying with Air France and KLM, with an enhanced loyalty cooperation coming soon” (italics ours, for emphasis).
This is tipped to see the return of Flying Blue members being able to earn XP status points on Qantas flights, and perhaps also deeper reciprocal benefits including status perks for Qantas frequent flyers.

This is just KLM/Air France members are getting all the perks, what could the reciprocal perks for Qantas Flyers possibly be? La Premier access would be nice, but doubtful.

If you have lived through a typical Air France "industrial action", you'll know why no sensible FF would ever trust them or connect via CDG. It is not that industrial action is common, but it is remarkably hostile, fast and with no care at all for people who are stuck. I am not anti-union, but the level of total disinterest in those left behind is extraordinary and not something I will ever repeat. Twice was enough.

Can’t anyone read? The benefits for Qantas customers are to be announced soon. Qantas are incredibly good at negotiating partnership deals as anyone who uses their status or membership knows so why do you all jump to the negative conclusions immediately lol

I've sometimes wondered if Qantas could defect to SkyTeam at some point. Apart from American and Fiji, they don't really seem to play that well with other OneWorld airlines, and really come across as competitors for the likes of JAL and Cathay. And spurning Qatar for Emirates too.. I doubt they'd ever ditch the AA partnership in any case.
