Qatar Airways now serves cocktails from the world’s best bar
These sky-high tipples have been created by the founder and mixologist of Hong Kong’s famed Bar Leone.
Your next Qatar Airways flight in business or first class just got seriously upgraded.
The Gulf carrier is rolling out a new inflight dining menu from Ross Lusted, award-winning Australian chef and owner of Sydney’s Woodcut and Melbourne’s Marmelo restaurants.
Celebrating the best of Australian produce, the dishes are built around a curated selection ranging from delicately prepared seafood to heroic Aussie meat options, all in keeping with Lusted’s culinary philosophy of clean, bold flavours driven by seasonality and sustainability.
Joining that menu on all flights between Australia and Doha will be elevated ‘signature’ cocktails crafted by globally-renowned mixologist Lorenzo Antinori, whose Bar Leone in Hong Kong won acclaim as the world’s best bar in 2025.

The new signature cocktail collection comprises four cocktails available in both first and business class, plus an additional three cocktails exclusive to each cabin.
Most of those are also served at the Airbus A380’s upper deck lounge, although with some curious tweaks.
For example, Qatar Airways lists The Carousel in business class as being made with James Hennessy Cognac, but in the lounge with the far superior Hennessy X.X.O.
Likewise, in business class the Old Smoke whisky cocktail relies on Talisker 10, but the lounge version lists a typically non-smoky Glenlivet.
Passengers who prefer non-alcoholic options can explore a delectable range of mocktail staples that includes Apple Sour, Mango Fizz, Orange Lime Relaxer, Virgin Mojito and Pineapple Margarita.

Those are some nice-sounding cocktails, and good catch on the different spirits being used in some of the A380 lounge versions. Hennessy Cognac vs Hennessy X.X.O, no contest. I'd actually love to try both and appreciate what the difference the XXO makes!
