Qantas CEO apologises over long call centre waiting times
Apr 12, 2022, 01:09 PMAnother data point here. Not sure whether it's cathartic or makes it even more depressing. I can sum up my experience pretty briefly: I availed myself of Qantas' status match programme last year with enthusiasm, as I'd relocated back from Singapore a few years ago and being tied to Star Alliance ...

Qantas delays restart of San Francisco flights until October
Feb 04, 2022, 10:45 AMUnderstandable when half of the potential market for the flights remains indefinitely locked out of Oz with no actual plan in sight. Pity.

Australia gets ready to reopen to overseas visitors
Oct 28, 2021, 01:24 PMFriendly reminder: many of us aren't "visitors." I'm on a skilled migrant visa. Many like me have lived in Australia and called it home for years and spent the last two years (especially here in Melbourne) living through lockdowns, restrictions and all the rest, paying tax and contributing to the...

Australian airports to be divided into red zones and green zones
Oct 14, 2021, 04:11 PMThey'll need to be a citizen or PR in the first place, and then presumably need a place to stay, and of course thus far there is zero clarity around that whatsoever. Review: Virgin Australia Boeing 737 domestic economy class

Australians working overseas
Sep 18, 2020, 03:53 PMThe number of jokes I've had over the last six months from family, clients and friends overseas about Australia showing its true "Prison Island" colours says it all.Ordinary Australians in the country are told to hunker down and shut up; you're not allowed to leave. Australians overseas are dismi...

Best Star Alliance lounge in Melbourne (afternoon), Bangkok (evening), Milan ...
Nov 24, 2019, 05:17 AMI haven't flown J or F out of BKK on Star Alliance, so can't speak to class-restricted lounges. If *Gold, I prefer the NZ lounge in MEL and the BR lounge in BKK.

Alaska Flight but Admirals Lounge (LAX)
Oct 11, 2019, 10:02 AMNo - only subscribed Alaska Lounge members may use the Admirals Lounge when travelling on AS or AA. Flying F on AS does not grant entry. Instead, you'll need to head to the AS Lounge in T6. (OneWorld status is irrelevant here, as AS is not a OneWorld member.)

Air Baltic - Yes or No
Aug 17, 2019, 03:09 AMFlew them as well a few times, on-time and no issues. Hand luggage was never weighed, but could be, though I believe the limits are on par with most carriers in Oz anyway.
