Hi all,

Happy new year and hoping 23 is a great year of travel for you all. Quick one I can't seem to (or have not been able for months now) to see any Emirates rewards from OZ-EUR or EUR-OZ. Has something changes with Emirates and Qantas. As an example I can't seem to find any options for DBX - OZ at all. Trying desperately to get some flights form Europe to anywhere in oz in late July. Im a plat with 800K points to burn. thanks all. LTF

first problem you will have is that late July is peak season.

You may get lucky if you try book it as a multi-city with flexible dates. This will bring up the old qantas monthly award chart with all available seats.

It will show you if there are any options but it is likely that are is nothing available from Australia to Dubai and will give you an error.

Try paying for a flight to Asia and booking with points out of there. Award inventory out of Australia will be tough until at least next year.

Realistically, 2023 is a difficult year for redemptions ex. Australia: too few reward seats and too many flyers fighting over those few seats. Right now, the airlines are having a magnificent windfall from full-fee paying pax, and there is little desire and/or capacity on their part to make more reward seats available. Sid has given good advice though: try your departure from somewhere in Asia (I usually opt for Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Bangkok, maybe Manila too. Singapore is usually a tough one unless you're with KrisFlyer). You might have better luck from these Asian departure points. As for Australia, well, I've written off all of 2023 for my redemptions with QF and partners. I honestly don't think I'll even try until the second half of 2024. It's really that bad now.
