Hi All, hope some of you could give me an advise.

I am flying to Singapore to say Good Bye to my sister who flying to Europe. She flying out by QR943 at 10:45AM. AFAIK all Oneword lounges open after lunch including Qatar one (how stupid is that!). Other problem that she flying out in economy while I have First to Sydney and could drag her in any Oneword lounge. AFAIK only lounge that I can use in the morning is Emirates and as Qantas flyer I can use it and bring one guest (I think). However on Emirates website it is very unclear who can be a guest and it looks like we should fly out on the same flight and this is not the case. So I am not sure what to do.

Please correct me if my assumptions are wrong or give your thoughts

Thanks

so you're flying to SIN in 1st to see your sister at the airport who's flying eco, and which lounge to sit in is your biggest concern?!

????? What is the most stupid answer what I ever read! You like to hear full story? Read on. She flying to Australia as once-in-lifetime trip and I suggest her to stay in Singapore few days on the way back. She uncomfortable to do it by herself, so I bought ticket to SIN and back (as well as SIN-Australia for her) to spend few days with her in Singapore and say Good Bye. She bought tickets only Europe-SIN-Europe. I do not intend to fly to Singapore in economy class and therefore I bought two rewards business tickets for myself and for her via HKG (to spend few days in HKG as well) and one business ticket back for myself. Few days ago QF released First award tickets and I gladly upgraded mine. Now I hope to drag her into nice lounge in Singapore before flight using power of First class ticket. As for her tickets Europe-SIN-Europe - she bought them by herself and declined idea to get as least PE. Do you have anymore question, <insert your favorite swearing here>???

If she doesn't have OneWorld/Qatar status I don't believe there is any lounge for her to enter. (Qatar direct passangers with status to the Sats lounge in singapore that aren't flying in Business).

I suspect you will have to wait until a Oneworld lounge is open (I assume you have no luggage so plan on checking on early via the app?)

Thanks. I do not think about myself but rather curious where we can go together. I think you are rights, but going to check Emirates because nothing open yet anyway. As to check-in AFAIK it is possible for QF pax check-in, drop baggage and have boarding pass from 8AM using Jewel Early Check-In facility that I am going to explore.

If you arrive really early enough, you might be able to go to T4 and enjoy the Cathay lounge (they are open quite early from 6 or 7 am the last time I checked).

But getting to T1 and T4 is a bit iffy. I understand that they expect you to have many many hours before your schedule departure before they allow you to take the airside bus from T1 to T4. Not to mention it takes easily 30 mins one way as you still have to wait for the bus to arrive and teh whole journey T1 to T4 can take up to 20 mins or so. So not sure if it is worth the time and risk missing the flight. But an option nevertheless.

Thanks for input. I know about this option, but she cannot use ECI and even if she can it opens at 8AM. With flight at 10:45AM it is clearly not enough time. Thanks anyway.

Side question - I read mixed reports about transferring between T1 and T4 within transit zone. Some saying it is OK while others saying that it is not allowed. Reading your message I conclude that it depends what time your flight is scheduled. Is it correct interpretation? Thanks

Hi Serg

Not answering your original question so you can choose to stop reading here

However I wish to point out your original posting was confusing for me to read as well, and I don’t feel your response to dm12 was not appropriate, as it was clear your query was misunderstood.

Obviously there are others here who did not have a problem with that and happy to help you out with clearer information you provided in the second post, but there will be some, myself included, who would be reluctant to put our opinion in this thread.

I generally find writing long form is harder to misinterpret and less likely to be mistaken as offensive but that again is only my opinion; you feel free to disagree.

I disagree indeed with dm12 who never answer/suggest anything at all, but instead just insult me in something that perhaps only he have in his mind to do. Hence my answer.

Thanks for your post, but if you find something unclear or think that there is not enough information in original post (and it indeed may be so) you could simply ask. Here participation is voluntary and if you for whatever reason do not like to ask or to answer you may simply go to next topic. I re-read my OP and think that it states quite clear that I like to go to a lounge with her, but just do not know into what lounge because it looks like Qatar one is closed when her Qatar flight scheduled (what a stupidity!).

Who appointed you to be Lord High Judge of Morals & Intentions? You don't know his family situation, so quit pretending. Either answer the man or keep it zipped up. Simple. We're adults, here to help fellow travellers; not relive the good 'ol days of high school bitching in the playground. I assume, but cannot prove you're also an adult?

Hi XWu. I'm sorry, but I do disagree with your take. The gentleman may not have English as his first language, BUT (and it's a very big 'but') that does not mean his basic question was unclear. In fact, it was very clear in his first post what info he was seeking. He didn't need to write a second post to clarify anything, as you imply! And his annoyance is perfectly warranted given the callous remark from a most unhelpful person. He was not 'misunderstood' by a well-wisher. He was taunted by a judgemental/unhelpful person looking to provoke a reaction. Quite frankly, I'm surprised you would side with that unhelpful person.

An update. Been in SIN last week. Qatar lounge was open in the morning and I was let in with my sister. Person on reception tell me that guest must fly on QF flight (perhaps he meant that on the same flight as me), but let us in without even checking ticket of my sister.

Hi Guest, join in the discussion on Oneword lounge in Singapore for morning flight.
