I am Plat One and will be flying EK414 (First) to DXB Sat night. Can I use the QF First lounge (say entry at 1900hrs). Much Appreciated.

Yes, you certainly can!

Qantas Platinums can access any Qantas lounge (including First) when departing on Emirates flights.

You can access the QF first lounge on your Emirates First ticket or your Plat One status... also, isn't it EK413 SYD>DXB?

Pity you didn't pick to fly with the QF flight number which would have helped you retain QF status by earning you QF SC.

By booking and flying the EK flight number, you do earn QFF points, but you have to work harder to retain QF status.

I am flying MEL - AKL also with EK, but have booked with the QF flight number to help me keep QF SG or at the least QF PS.

Tonnes of ppl are like this.

Some of my old colleagues were surprised when they got to P1 because they didn't even know there was such a tier!

Really appreciate the responses. Without sounding like a wanker I have been a P1 since inception and crack the 3600 pretty easily. I spend a little too much time OS and do leave sitting to the plane and not the lounge. I like to wander (then again LAD, LOS and some other spots you're just happy to be at check in 4-6hrs early and get a seat). Yes outbound is EK413. I'll be in DXB/AUH for 24hrs and then  on EK211 IAH for 48hrs then back onto EK212 then EK414 to get home. Yes could have booked QF but EK just as easy for me. Cheers All & Thanks.

Quick 'back to you'. I put my hand up for 'take the longest way'. Flew SYD/DXB for 24hrs then DXB/IAH for 48hrs and did the same in reverse. No complaints, flew up the front all the way and EK did do it well - the Dom helped. Coming out of IAH we did have one passenger (EK iO) who had a number of us change seats in order for his family (of six) to be together. Interesting, didn't bother me one iota. Polite...but was firm. Cheers
