Melbourne International is special, not in a good way
Singapore is my fav OS
It has been 2 years but Perth is good except it has too much dayglo, large groups of blokes sitting around knocking back beer, so I would go Sydney where there are smaller groups in suits - both get crowded though

Favourite: Sydney First Lounge, followed by HKG and SIN.

Worst: The Auckland Private Dungeon. (aka the First Class "Lounge"/Room/Hole?)

Excluding F, my favourite is Perth Domestic Business and ties for worst are Hobart QClub and Melbourne International Business.

the above comments in this thread illustrate the reason why I switched from QF to SQ a long time ago, even though i worked for QF back in the day. SQ are superior in every aspect of lounges, guests' well-being and in-flight service. so glad I took the step …

Sydney first lounge is super. While SIN and HKG look nice I really don't like them because they look like train stations especially SIN - bring in guidelines. yes yes no doubt i'll get slammed but that's my opinion.

Perth J is excellent. Small by comparison to Syd/Mel but better lay out, food selection and bar service. Easy to access also. Broome lounge although "renovated" is a tiny, crowded and very hard to access via multiple stairs and doors. Mel domestic Biz lounge needs to be enlarged. Sydney First is sensational if you're lucky or status enough to get in.

Slightly OT and I am sure most here are aware of, but I spent time in the BA SIN lounge for the first time ahead of QF36 this week, rather than going into the QF lounge.

While QF has some clear strengths, especially cook to order and sparkling selection, BA will be my choice going forward. So much quieter until about fifteen minutes prior to boarding when a big group entered and the buffet and wine selection was really good.

Wifi seemed faster too, but that may just have been perception arising from my generally positive vibe!

Interesting comments - mostly though related to international or the primary 'gateway' lounges in SYD, MEL etc.

However, my choice for a fairly uninspiring lounge goes to Cairns (CNS). Service levels and amenities are reasonable for a 'regional' product - but the interior design is particularly dour - white, white, white and did I mention .. more white. Little in the way of decoration, colour and decor. It is an expansive, very large, primarily unbroken space which screams out for something of interest and focus. Certainly, CNS is not the 'centre of the universe' for cutting edge product for QF .. but being a major regional centre as well as a smaller 'gateway' one would think that this location could benefit from a little more inspiration and love.

It is very surprising that no one has said the holding pen of HNL to be the worst. A few cereal boxes for food and space for around 50 people at max.
