I have found that the best way to contact customer care is to go through their web site. All messages are read daily and they will get back to U fairly quickly. Several of the staff in that section are part timers, but I got answers and problems sorted (on 2 occasions) quickly.

Try calling the Qantas head office number at Mascot, which I think is (02) 9317-9005.
