Not sure if this has happened to anyone else. I used to be able to select the W class cabin seats while flying domestically between PER/MEL on QF9/10 on a Y ticket. On my upcoming trip I am no longer able to do this however. Does anyone know if Qantas has changed its seating selection rule etc?
I’m WP flying QF9 domestically in November and there’s certainly no provisions to select PE. In fact it’s allowing me to upgrade to PE for 10k FF points!

Hi Whopper: that's interesting, at what point in the booking stage are you being prompted for that upgrade?
QF 787 premium economy is selectable by plats on domestic routes where it is not for sale. QF 9 &10 even between PER-MEL-PER is technically part of a international flight and part of a saleable cabin for MEL-LHR-MEL.

That’s my understanding too but it wasn’t selectable last night when I booked my flight. It seems like it’s become an upgradable option only and no longer for selection.
The upgrade option has come up like a business upgrade too on the upgrade page for me.

You can upgrade now, no longer able to simply select it.
