Hi All

I don't usually fly enough to make Gold, but maybe I'll book some flights for the hell of it during the current DSC promo and enjoy the perks for a year (and hopefully longer).

I am currently a Qantas Club member however, and this expires in April next year.

I am wondering any people know the following:

  1. If I achieve Gold status, does my QC membership remain in play as well and expire in April like normal?
  2. If QC membership does lapse, if I fall from Gold status, would I need to pay the 'joining fee' again to reinstate this? (it seems silly that I would have to continue my QC membership if it is included with Gold...)

Happy to ask the QFF support team, but just thought I'd see if anyone here had any knowledge first..

Thanks.

I’m in that same position - when you reach gold your QC membership is suspended and reactivated when / if you fail to requalify. My QC has been suspended for 8 years now, and I’ve checked and it’s still on file.

Thanks Steve. Just did some googling and came across an old 2015 AusBT thread saying this as well - good to hear 👍

Focus on getting to Lifetime Gold - then all these problems go away!

My letter that came with the gold tags pack specifically stated that Qantas club is on hold as I still had 6 months left but the rate I fly currently don't think I will ever need that before LTG
