My wife and I are doing eight hours in the QF A330-200 with its pretty ordinary single loo for 28 business class pax. Is there anything that would impede a business passenger from going back and using an economy loo, if our one business loo had a queue? I've read that Qantas rarely stops people coming forward to use the business loo so can we go back and use the economy loo?

A little surprised as I see references to Y and J in many other posts, and presume that business travellers would know these two codes, but fair enough I guess.
We edit them where we see them and as our schedule allows: as we're not an 'aviation' or 'industry' website, our readers are predominantly mainstream, 'everyday' business travellers, who have no real need to know fare codes or short-hand letters, and many of them won't know what this means. :)

You certainly can use the economy loos but let me be brutally honest. Apart from the loos being cramped the economy lavs tend to be pretty messy the further into a flight you get! I'd rather stay in my seat up front and wait for a business class loo.

Yes us uncouth economy class passengers don't know how to use a toilet properly... gosh this site espouses some elitist rubbish sometimes!

I do not think that was Bob's suggestion at all. Business class lavs are invariably cleaner, but for two simple reasons:

I've been "told off" a couple of times for using the First Class bathroom when riding in Business class. But I don't think they really cared too much. If you got to go you got to go!

There is a whole thing about acronyms such as Y J and airport codes which is very irritating and maybe not the best thing about the air travel community or any other that love their in house acronyms. The military is another such community. Communication with resort to google should be the aim.
Correction ... without resort to google.

Just to address this last point: the frequent flyer and points communities are indeed very au fait with all manner of codes – fare classes, ticket types, airport and airline codes – but the mainstream less so, and we write for that more mainstream audience. Business travellers will of course quickly get to know airport and airline codes, and some will pick up the F/J/Y jargon. However, all of those codes act as a barrier to most people and get in the way of the content, so our philosophy (built on my own experience as a technology journo/editor, as well as when I was first confronted by the alphabet soup of jargon on frequent flyer forums) is to avoid the abbreviations in order to make Australian Business Traveller more accessible and more welcoming to readers.
Thanks but is a very special flyer indeed who is across all airport codes.
