perhaps we should be discussing the fact that there is only 1 toilet for 28 seats!!
I understand the economies of scale and how every seat counts for profitability but 1 toilet for a whole cabin is surely pushing it especially in the hour leading up to landing.
When I fly on Malaysian's A330's in J they have a pretty weird J class config.....there are 30 J seats in the forward cabin. On most aircraft the 30 seats would occupy the whole cabin between the front galley and the galley at doors 2. But on MH they've squeezed the 30 seats into a smaller area and put a small Y cabin of just two rows behind the J class seats in the forward cabin. So effectively, there's one loo in the forward galley to use for J and two loo's in the mid galley are for Y.
What i've noticed they often do (not sure whether it's official service standard or not) is block off one of the mid galley Y loos and stick a 'business class' sticker on it. And when they see a wait in the forward galley they escort you to the mid galley loo and unlock it. A bit odd but kinda effective.
what's wrong with that.just don't do an elaine on seinfeld and sneak into business class and sit down when your seat is in coach after going to the toilet.
You certainly can use the economy loos but let me be brutally honest. Apart from the loos being cramped the economy lavs tend to be pretty messy the further into a flight you get! I'd rather stay in my seat up front and wait for a business class loo.

That's exactly the point. One lav for 28 J pax (that's business passengers) is an insult.
I was on a Qantas 737 from Karratha to Perth last week in business, and there was a steady stream of economy passengers using the business toilets, and not a thing was said by cabin crew. Both times I needed to use the toilet I had to wait for economy passengers. Virgin Australia with their little white rope reduces this in my experience.

I fly a mix of business and economy class and it's clear the difference in cleanliness in lavs at either end of the plane, and a lot of that is because the business class toilets are cleaned more often during a flight. As to this website being elitist, I don't think so, it simply chooses to focus on the business traveller and business class. Of course some business travellers fly economy, I do on short hops around Asia, but it doesn't bother me that AusBT ignores economy because there's not much to say about economy!
Well the name of website is Australian Business Traveller (not Australian Business Traveller travelling in F or J), so I for one would be appreciative of more coverage of Y alongside the other classes as I often travel Y for business.
For example, I was just reading an article about EY downgrading one of its services from an A380 to a B777. The article then discussed the implications in terms of the quality of the F and J seats, but no mention of Y. On Etihad A380->B777 (as with many other airlines eg Emirates), that is a massive negative change which readers ought to be made aware of, whereas the F and J downgrade is much less significant.

The A330-200s are gradually being re-refurbed, and an extra J toilet is being installed (with a loss of 2 J seats).

5 of the proposed 8 longhaul 332s (the ones with seatback IFE) already have toilets, with 6th under maintenance.
