Completely agree & they charge accordingly $4200 return west coast to perth!!!

LMC. Not sure where you get $4200 from . I flew J class Brisbane- Sydney- Perth returning in April Perth- Brisbane and it cost $3050 incl taxes and fees.

Flew VA to HKG via SYD and back once only in J. Flew QF to HKG, PEK, PVG, SHA (year 1998), NRT, SIN, LAX, LHR, EZE (year 2009), AKL in F, J and Y many many many times. I always thought QF is the better Airways until I flew to HKG and back with VA this January (btw VA lost my luggage for 24 hrs). Yet it is so hard to give up QFFlyer.

Yeah, that's the rub. QF is relying solely on rusted-on customers staying with them because of their FF program and the chase for Lifetime Gold. They are certainly not competing on hard or soft product.

Agree the Virgin 330 is great. The problem is being downgraded to the 737
