Ah! I can see that some have received and some haven’t.
So I’d like to ask - there’s a therory floating around that Qantas sends these targeted promotions a day or two (or a week) after you’ve searched fares to a particular destination.
It seems to be a coincidence (or could be true) in some cases and not in some cases
For instance, I was looking for J fares to several destinations in Asia over the last few days and the dsc to Singapore landed in my email box today.
For South America though, I didn’t do any search
What do you guys think ? Had something like this happened to you ? Now or before ?
I actually got a DSC email this morning for any international QF-ticketed and operated flight, valid for bookings made between 13-19 April inclusive for travel between 20 April 2019 and 30 March 2020.
Interestingly, it only applies to booking classes that fall into Qantas' "Saver" and "Flex" categories. "Sale" booking classes don't qualify, it seems, so it looks like an up-sell promotion.
I got the same E Mail ALO126 received, strangely, my wife didn’t get any. Having said that, it didn’t have a link attached to register. Does anyone know how I can register, as I am ready to make some bookings.
For me no Sale fares would be a down sell. If I’m not buying Business Sale fares I’m not going to stretch to getting Business Saver or Flex fares and would probably go for Flex Economy and try for an upgrade if I couldn’t find Business classic reward seats.

If you do QF1 or QF2, do you get the DSC to Singapore? Not sure if it’s classified as SYD-SIN if it’s SYD-LHR

I’d think you’ll be getting DSC for SYD-SIN and SIN-SYD legs and normal SC for SIN-LHR and LHR-SIN.

I got both - I had been searching for Singapore flights and I have a one-way flight to Hong Kong coming up - presumed it was a targeted campaign.

I used to go to SG all the time but haven’t for a few years. Hadn’t been searching.

Yup. I had all three emails and had only searched for Perth Heathrow yesterday. But nowhere else. So coincidental?
