Singapore Airlines opens new Changi T2 First Class Lounge
This stunning transformation will delight first class flyers heading out from Changi Terminal 2.
Singapore Airlines’ lounges at Changi Terminal 2 have always been the bridesmaid to the flagship Changi T3 offerings – but no longer, thanks to a stunning ‘zero to hero’ transformation.
You want proof? Check out the new Changi T2 First Class SilverKris Lounge, which opens this Thursday 7 November, 2025.
It’s the first phase of a three-stage SGD$45 million upgrade for the T2 lounges, with the Business Class and KrisFlyer Gold lounges to follow over the coming 18 months.
The trio of lounges will share the same contemporary design as their T3 siblings, and that’s great news for the million-plus travellers who pass through T2 every month.
The terminal is extensively used not by Singapore Airlines for its Southeast Asia flights but also Star Alliance carriers including Air Canada, Air India, ANA, Lufthansa, Swiss, Thai and United Airlines.
Inside SQ’s new Changi T2 First Class Lounge
The revamped Singapore Airlines Changi T2 lounge precinct is framed by a familiar batik wall, over 20 metres long and almost three metres high.
This artistic interpretation of the airline’s batik motif incorporates a programmed lighting sequence which makes the flowers pulse softly, brightening and fading in slow rhythm to bring the wall to life.
Taking advantage of a new location on the terminal’s upper floor – where the Malaysia Airlines lounge used to be – the First Class SilverKris Lounge boasts an expanded footprint of 1,050m2.
With room for around 130 passengers, this makes it almost the same size as the flagship T3 First Class SilverKris Lounge.
In the lounge’s entry foyer, a curved LED screen with animations of the batik motif will become the spot for snapping photos ahead of the journey.
In fact, it’s worth pausing for a moment to take in the floral notes of the airline’s bespoke Batik Flora scent and the melodic Sound of Singapore Airlines ‘sonic signature’ wafting out from the speakers.
A centrepiece of the new First Class SilverKris Lounge is the eye-catching Signaturre Bar bar, which echoes the popular Crystal Bar in the Terminal 3 lounge.
With seating for 12 travellers, this classic horseshoe-shaped bar will serve up barista-made coffee, cocktails, Champagne, wines and spirits, alongside a ‘bar bites’ menu.
And we have to mention the champers, with the excellent 2007 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires and 2013 Piper Heidsieck Rare being poured.
Pre-flight dining also benefits from a significant upgrade, with live cooking stations where Chefs freshly prepare dishes (we recommend the Hawaiian Chicken Burger with Crinkle Cut Fries) served to guests at their tables.
Of course, favourites such as laksa and chwee kueh steamed rice cakes still take pride of place, while buffet dishes include herb-roasted chicken cacciatore and Mediterranean quinoa salad.
High ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows lend a bright, spacious feel to the dining and living areas.
The latter of these is adjacent to the Signature Bar: it’s where you’ll find SQ’s wingback chairs and productivity pods, along with two soundproof phone booths.
There’s also a meeting room for up to six people, equipped with video conferencing facilities.
If you need to rest rather than work, make your way to one of four semi-private resting pods in a separate soundproofed room with soft lighting.
Each resting pod features an adjustable Poltrona Frau reclining armchair and a sliding door for privacy. Pillows, blankets, and eyeshades are provided for added comfort.
The littlest travellers are not forgotten, with a playroom equipped with a Sony PlayStation 5 game console plus tactile games to keep children entertained while parents relax nearby.
There’s also a separate nursing room, equipped with a comfortable armchair and baby changing station.
Rounding out the Changi T2 First Class SilverKris Lounge experience are four shower rooms stocked with Lalique Neroli products and Dyson hairdryers.
Access: Singapore Airlines’ Changi T2 First Class SilverKris Lounge rolls out the welcome mat for all first class passengers on Singapore Airlines (although we’d suggest The Private Room in T3 is a better place to be) and other Star Alliance airlines.
High flyers holding Solitaire PPS Club membership or other lofty Star Alliance status – including Miles&More HON Circle and ANA Mileage Club Diamond – are also on the door list.

Looks interesting. But I think you nailed when recommending the Private Room in T3. Yes you have to be flying First/Suites with Sing for access. The Private Room has an understated elegance, supreme service and is never crowded. And with the transit link is only a few minutes away from T2.
