OK, good deal from PER-HKG, but if i want (need!) to fly to CX destinations in China, not served by QF, it seems like it is not happening. Seems like a lost opportunity?

I would love a direct PER-PVG/SHA service. We have rubbish timing/ connections at the moment. Cathay is the best option currently. It would be great if CEA did a code share with Qantas, though I suspect that is highly unlikely

A couple of years ago I was about to drop back to LTG, but they took my average SC's from the previous 2 (or 3?) years which exceeded the 1200 per year avge, so kept Platinum. Not sure whether they still do that? Would I spend 120K points to retain? No!
