• Sadly some of this is the Alan Joyce legacy, fleet is the issue but surely there must be some used (2nd hand) A330’s in the market they can buy, Delta as an example have been magnificent in buying used aircraft, refitting them and flying them very successfully. The masses largely don’...

  • To be honest, for me would rather see China Southern or China Eastern join OW than another ME airline, CX just don’t cut it with enough connections into and through provincial cities in China, IMO China is a huge gap in the OW alliance

  • Agree with most comments above, adding below 1. Food & beverage a definite easy fix, Neil Perry needs to go2. Lounge improvements, especially SYD & MEL domestic3. Achievable lifetime platinum, should be around 30,0004. Wifi internationally 5. Gold or Platinum, P1 etc free of cha...

  • With Sunrise already A350 and A321XLR currently on order plus existing A380/A330 fleet, hard to see QF replacing 737’s with anything other than MAX. Not sure it’s a great idea being broadly single sourced to Airbus across the fleet except for a dozen 787’s, Joyce will dangle the...

  • Yes but state premiers have benefit of time, VIC not till Nov 2022 and NSW Mar 2023, ScoMo will win or lose on NSW and VIC voters, IMO he’ll open up otherwise he’s already cooked and done - and if he opens up and by end March wins and it’s all gone sideways he’ll shut it a...

  • Not aware of a clear definition but I would assume it relates to “Permanent Residency” in a country other than Australia. I am Australian citizen and flew out of Sydney about 6 weeks ago to the US where I am Green Card Permanent Resident, even just showing the Green Card alone wasn't completely e...

  • People put a lot of crap on AJ but I think Qantas was in good shape going into this and will come out in good shape. Certainly would be crazy if they're not using this opportunity to “fine tune” the business and people. I think this will fastrack decline of the A380's and speed up more 787 and A3...

  • I just booked to Mumbai via Cathay Pacific (HKG) but not really any easy option with QF, other option that was quite reasonably priced was but longer was with Qatar Airways via Doha.

  • Could QF become an all Boeing fleet?

    Jun 05, 2019, 12:01 PM

Clearly from recent news of new routes QF must be getting great returns on the 787, talk of A380’s shuffling to SIN, HK and HND seem to suggest they are trying to get better utilisation/return from them (aka they are too big). The big questions are the Sunrise long haul replacement, what ha...
