• Any idea if there is an expiry date on this? I probably won't be flying Star Alliance for another six months so would prefer to delay my status match

  • Not sure about early morning flights but I would be a fan of this on late evening departures. I think often people eat food because it's offered to them, not because they're hungry. I recon if airlines stopped serving such meals there would be very few complaints.Case in point - recently took ANA...

  • I flew BNE-PER the other day on a Qantas 737. The J cabin was full, and as I was one of the last to board there was no space in the overhead lockers, completely chocker. Had no choice but to stow my (small) bag under the seat in front. At disembarkation it was annoying to note how much baggage ev...

  • It may have been a year ago when I tried getting into the Brisbane lounge. They still had the A380 morning flight to Auckland then so the lounge was open. The staff were absolutely adamant that the codeshare rule applied. Likewise at Melbourne. If it happens again I'll let you know.

  • I have a bone of contention with reviews on this site that reference Emirates lounge access rules. You state:When travelling with Qantas, except to North and South America or to South Africa: business class passengers, Qantas Gold cardholders and above, and Skywards Gold members and above.I'm Pla...

I had to call up the other day because they failed to send me an itinerary after making an award flight booking on Jetstar (Needed said itinerary to show the security guards at the terminal in Manila). Got through in decent time as Platinum, but the attitude of the lady (Australian or Kiwi accent...

  • The American Airlines lounge at Narita has some of the nicest showers you'll find in an airport lounge. Also much quieter than the JAL First Class lounge whenever I've visited.

  • No more Mk1 skybed!

Got to admit. Of all the redeye flights I've done PER-MEL, the best sleep I got was on the 330 with the Skybeds. Maybe because I was so dreading it that I put no pressure on myself to sleep. Or maybe it was all the wine I had beforehand :P

  • I avoid the 787 because of those annoying dimming windows. I was on a Thai flight once and couldn't control the dimming function. Since it was night time it didn't matter, but the sun would be rising in a few hours and I didn't want my sleep disturbed. Asked the flight attendant to unlock the dim...

  • A few months ago I flew a Qantas 737 in J from Brisbane to Perth. I was the last to board the (full) business cabin. The overhead bins were completely full - I had to put my bag below the seat in front which reduced the already restricted legroom. At the end of the flight I noticed that despite a...
