    That's true. I was going to book AU to LAX but the fares were $8k in J.  They're now $5k on a companion sale so I'd rather book now and forfeit double status.

    This is a fantastic alternative for the LAX run, esp if booking out of Nadi. Super good pricing and QF points and status to boot!

    looks like air nz is responding with $7 seatsin the lead up to xmas. and this flight is the same price for every seat. makes you wonder though why qantas australia cant do this.

    Booking travel under Qantas QF flight is a joke for codeshare.  i regularly travel SYD-AKL return.  if I book Lan via Qantas it costs over $2k for the return business seat. Book direct with Lan and the same seat is $750 return plus Lan will give you the same status credits and QFF miles...
