Hi all,

Just a question hoping someone can shed some light.
Looking to book SYD-JFK with EY in first. Although when booking the EY website indicates that EY 101 from AUH-JFK does not have first though expert flyer says otherwise.  Can anyone advise whether this route uses a777-300er with first?

Many Thanks!

I thought they used their A380 on some JFK legs. Do you have that as an option?

EY 101 is a two class 777-300

EY 103 is your other option a380

Ok no worries. Yes there is one a380 flight to JFK though to get that connection in AUH you need to be on the afternoon flight out of SYD which is also a 2 class 777-300..

The Lounge in AUH is pretty good.

If you are keen to stay on the A380 overnight in Abu Dhabi, the Emirates Palace is nice and next to the Presidential Palace - although you can't drop in and say Hi.

BevanMcBevan,

Do you think if booking through etihad they would accommodate this? (of course if we provide our own accommodation)
It would mean arriving in Abu Dhabi at approx 0500 and taking the a380 to JFK which leaves at 0335 on subsequent days?

Try QR first to DOH on the A380 then the A350 business to JFK.

If you are flying through AUH in F on EY (i.e. AUH isn't your final destination), you are eligible for two free nights' accommodation in some decent hotels: http://www.etihad.com/en-au/plan-and-book/book-stopovers/premium-stopovers/. The Emirates Palace isn't among them, unfortunately, but the St Regis is pleasant.

Hi There,

Just to clarify EY101 is a 3 class service from AUH-JFK, indeed it does offer First Class.
Try book it on any website and it will let you. I am also taking the SYD-AUH-JFK in F next month.

Hi DNOD,

Thanks for clarification. I am looking at dates for towards the end of next year and on etihads site it's now showing EY101 as an a380 from around October 17 so they must be upgrading that flight next year which is great news..

Enjoy your flight :)

All of the SYD-AUH flights have F. I travelled on EY back in January and will be flying again next month. I suggest looking at a multi-city booking and chose both A380 flights. If you do a one-way or return it 'forces' you to travel one leg on the B777. You can usually get some good deals with the multi-cities. Also if you are in F, they provide 2 nights in some nice hotels. I prefer EY the long way around than the others via LAX. Only downside to a multi-city over the through connection is that EY don't provide transport while in 'transit'.

Hi rob1984,

Thanks for the feedback. What circumstances do they provide the overnight accomodation? I'm thinking of a layover in Abu Dhabi for a couple of days ( just to have a look and break up the journey)
I will look into the multi cities booking

On the EY website, under 'Plan and Book', you'll see 'Book Stopovers' F and J fares can book a premium stop over. J for 1 night, F for 2. If you wish to stay additional nights you can do this but they are chargeable. You need to have made a flight booking to be able to book the stop over. You select your preferred hotels from the list and usually within 24 hours you'll have an email receipt. I've used it a few times and the service has been great.

Ok that's great to know I will look into it.. do you initially book using a multi- city and include 1-2 days between flights for the premium stopover or do you book direct and you can add the stopover in? Sorry haven't done this before. Thanks heaps for the info
