Qantas double status credits offer

Hey All, I am renewing my membership end of Feb and have a few flights coming up. Im within 2 months for my P1 renewal and wondered if anyone had any insight into if / when a double status offer may go out in the New year? Have they followed a pattern in previous years?

I was thinking the same! Would be awesome if someone 'in the know' could shed any light

I seem to get an offer every year, but the last one was 25% bonus, other than the time when QF did a massive bonus to what seemed like everyone a few years ago my offers have always been within the first few months of my anniversary, but friends have had offers late in their year which has helped them obtain status level so it certainly seems to be random and without any definitive parameters.

Sorry my mistake, it was a 50% bonus.

In 2016 there was a global offer in April and this year in March. Whilst these were global offers (anyone could sign up and it was promoted on QANTAS's website) they only emailed some people to let them know about it.

There have been some targeted offers (only those that get the email can use it) as well at various times at any point of the year.

From 13 March 2018 bonus status credits will no longer count towards Partner Gold. I wouldn't be surprised if the next global offer doesn't cover any flying before then. QANTAS is under no obligation to do these promos so it's possible that there might not be another global one for several months if not years.

You just need to be vigilant,have a few travel dates penciled in your diary and the CC at the ready

We never receive any advance word on this at AusBT, so when such deals land in my inbox I'm as surprised (and delighted) as everybody else :)

My understanding that any new offers offering any kind of bonus status credits will not count towards maintenance or gaining P1.

Also note that loyalty bonus (option take 50 SC after hitting 500 SC, 1000 SC, 1500 SC and 2000 SC) not counting towards P1 is a different thing to double status credits counting to P1.

I wish Qantas would send an email confirming the Double Status Credit Registration offer and even Double Points promotions. I take a screen shot of the offers when I receive a Registration Confirmation. This has date and time stamps on it and I can take a pic or send as a PDF from the screenshot. Double SC's are very helpful when maintaining Platinum and going for Lifetime Gold as is my case. The last double SC's offer I saw was in September 2017.

NQflyer mentions that the Double Status promotions don't count towards the maintenance or attainment of platinum one. There has been much debate over this and I think the consensus is that this is not correct. In the last couple of double status promotions, the conditions have stated that: Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus or Platinum One Loyalty Bonus earn requirements. as noted by Mvly, it seems this refers to loyalty bonus. For P1, this includes: Platinum One members will receive a bonus of 75,000 Qantas Points when they reach 5,000 Status Credits in a Membership Year from flying with Qantas and Jetstar. A further bonus of 100,000 Qantas Points will be awarded when 7,000 Status Credits have been reached within a Membership Year from flying with Qantas and Jetstar. So my interpretation (which I hope is correct) is that the bonus points do count towards getting P1

Anyone heard anything more recent about a double status offer?
