Qantas commences using A380 to Singapore one again today as QF81/82. I thought we might have heard from Qantas regarding the lounge situation by now? It’s not long until London is re-routed. I’m not heading to Singapore until May, but not looking forward to seeing how busy the lounge will be!
I think they'll just be able to fit everyone and if not I guess they'll just start applying oneworld capacity limits like CX does in SFO.
After the switcheroo... there will be a lot of flights (possibly the most ever for the new QF Singapore lounge). Then add on the Jetstar flights and you've got a large number of people trying to fit in the 460 seats.
The Sing lounge will be crazy....even before the 380's start the place can get very very busy
Don't get me wrong, its modern and new, but its a combined lounge for everyone, no matter what membership status or flying tier....maybe no one thought ahead - you now have first class travelers transiting in Sing, with no first lounge, etc - (well if you think about it, its not too far away until Qantas has no first class at all......)

Some other options may be QF doing a deal with BA F area... Or use EK as overflow. But it's not ideal.
I don’t really believe JQ pax should be entitled to use the lounge even if they have high status.
Should standardize the airport experience with that in the air and chuck them a voucher for Burger King instead.
Yeah, the issue you have is Qantas still puts pax onto connecting Jetstar Asia flights. If you didn't give those passengers lounge access, that might be the final straw.

My partner and I were in the QF Singapore Lounge last night and on the first A380 back to SYD. When we arrived around 16:30 the lounge wasn't overly busy, but by the time we left to go to the gate at 18:30 the lounge was really crowded. The lounge team said they had planned for the additional pax volume and handled it pretty well but there was hardly a spare seat, any group over 2 struggled to be able to sit together.

I disagree! I live in Darwin and have no choice - only JQ to Singapore (to stay 'loyal' to Qantas and keep status) so lounge access should remain for JQ flyers. If I could fly QF, I would gladly pay extra but DRW is a small hub.
What did they do when Qantas used Singapore as a hub before Dubai? I know there weren't A380s but there were 747s and 767s flying everywhere. Probably similar passnger numbers!

From Sydney at least, it is difficult to do a red-eye bound for Singapore which doesn't arrive at silly o'clock
