Whatever you do, don't book a Qantas flight this week until you've signed up for this fantastic promo!
Get ready to fast-track your way to Qantas Gold, Platinum or even Platinum One status: for a limited time, all Qantas frequent flyers can earn a double serve of status credits on domestic and international flights.
Here's the skinny on the the Red Roo's red hot offer.
It applies to domestic and international flights on Qantas, as well as Emirates flights between Australia and New Zealand – provided they are under a Qantas flight number.
That includes the trans-Tasman leg of Emirates' Airbus A380s from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Auckland, plus Sydney-Christchurch: just make sure your booking and ticket carries a QF flight number instead of the native EK flight number (for example, EK418 Sydney-Auckland doubles as QF8418).
As is the norm with these double status credit offers, you have to register before making any bookings, or you won't earn those extra credits you desire. Click here to go straight to the promo sign-up page.
Your booking – or bookings, because we know you're going to write up a few to take advantage of this – have to be made by March 6, 2017. Leave it until March 7 and guess what? No double status credits for you!
However, the travel dates for those bookings can stretch through to February 19, 2018. This gives you almost a year of travel up your sleeve: so if you've got conferences to attend, regional offices to visit or just holidays to plan, do it now.
Book where you like: You don't have to book directly with Qantas. We've confirmed with Qantas that the double status credits offer is valid "via all booking channels, both direct and indirect, provided (travellers) register for the offer via qantas.com".
Determine your goal: are you trying to retain Gold membership, reach or retain Platinum or maybe even get across the line to Platinum One?
Now map out how this double status credits promotion will get you there. Start by checking your current status credit count and how you’re tracking towards the end of membership year (when those status credits are wiped and you start again).
Don't forget to take into account the Qantas loyalty bonus: when you hit 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 status credits you can choose between either 8,000 Qantas Points or 50 status credits. You may find that one double status credits booking will trigger a loyalty bonus or two, and those 50-100 status credits could be all you need to reach your goal.
