Singapore Airlines launches KrisFlyer Spree online shopping mall

Members of Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program can now earn miles for online shopping by clicking through its new KrisFlyer Spree shopping mall.
Similar to Virgin Australia’s Velocity Global eStore, members first visit the KrisFlyer Spree website before clicking on a tracking link, which enables miles to be awarded automatically.
Not limited only to Singaporean businesses, KrisFlyer Spree counts partners closer to home among its ranks – including the Australian versions of the Apple Store, iTunes and eBay websites.
The earning rates vary between retailers, but range between 19 and 25 KrisFlyer miles per US$10 spent with those named above.
Also on the roster is international web hosting provider Go Daddy, serving up a staggering 185 KrisFlyer miles for every US$10 paid for domain names, web hosting and more.
After the transaction takes place, details will appear on the KrisFlyer Spree site within five working days, while it can take a full 90 days for those points to be finalised and moved into your KrisFlyer account.
Points aren’t awarded on refunded items, so the waiting period gives most merchants time to accept and process any refunds or exchanges before forking out for the miles.
Items can be shipped to any address permitted by the respective merchants – which does include Australia in most cases.
