Jetstar confirms August 2013 launch for Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Jetstar will begin Boeing 787 flights from August 2013 with the first of three Dreamliners due by year's end.
David Hall, CEO of Jestar Australia New Zealand, confirmed the August 2013 launch date – first revealed by Australian Business Traveller earlier this week – at a press conference in Sydney Airport today, prior to a special flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
"We're very excited to be the first low-fare carrier anywhere in the world to be operating the 787 from mid-to-late next year" Hall said. "We will have three (787s) between August and the end of next year".
Asked about the 787's launch destinations, Hall citied "routes like Bali, Japan and Honolulu" for the first flights, rather than the previously-touted Singapore-based routes to Melbourne, Auckland and Beijing.

Not quite sure that David Hall is quite right when he says Jetstar will be the first low fare carrier in the world to introduce the Dreamliner into Service. Thomson Airways in the UK intend to put it into service in May 2013. The question then is, do you call Thomson Airways a low fare airline?

Not to sure I would class Thomson as a LCC, like DJ/VA yes their short haul has a user pays system but their long haul services are full service.
I do see your point though @Richard Brown, how are these types of carriers ment to be defined as?
Getting back to Jetstar. Will their brilliant new product be matched by their current levels of service?
