Singapore Airlines first class meals: now home delivered for $900

While most of its fleet is grounded, Singapore Airlines is taking home delivered meals to new heights (no pun intended) by bringing its first class and business class dining experiences to the condos of Singapore.

It's part of the "Discover Your Singapore Airlines" initiative aimed at grounded travellers while also helping reconnect the public with the nation's flag carrier – a program which will also see an Airbus A380 turned into a pop-up restaurant at Changi Airport.

Singapore Airlines offers seven dine-at-home packages built around ten curated first and business class menus designed for the following routes:

  • Singapore to Sydney (menu by Matt Moran)
  • Singapore to Paris (menu by Georges Blanc)
  • Singapore to Tokyo (menu by Yoshihiro Murata)
  • Singapore to Delhi (menu by Sanjeev Kapoor)

And it's not just a meal for two on offer, but a complete 'dining experience' including matching wine, tableware and an option to book a chef who will "reheat, plate and serve" your repast – along with the same tableware which would feature on the flight, plus amenity kits and pyjamas, and even "a specially curated playlist".

Singapore Airlines can also provide a chef to reheat, plate and serve your meals.

Singapore Airlines describes this as "the perfect gift for an anniversary or a special occasion, or a way to thank parents or grandparents by gifting a touch of true dining luxury."

The all-inclusive first class dinner includes Singapore Airlines' signature satay canape (available in plant-based Impossible Meat if you select the Singapore-to-Delhi vegetarian menu), Oscietra caviar and your choice of appetiser, main course and dessert (followed by a cheese plate and seasonal fruit).

Each first class meal starts with a plate of Oscietra caviar.

Those choices reflect the destination-based menus: for example, Matt Moran's Singapore-to-Sydney selection is...

  • Appetiser: Balik-Style Smoked Salmon, or Beef Consommé with Corned Wagyu Beef
  • Main course: Seared Lamb Loin with Natural Jus and Anchovy Fillet, or Confit Duck Leg with Pork Sausage Cassoulet, or Roasted Lobster in Spicy Bisque Sauce, or Pork Belly with Spiced Apple Sauce
  • Dessert: Apple Crumble with Seasonal Berries and Passionfruit Sauce, or Valrhona Chocolate Pave

On the drinks front, there's a 2008 Dom Pérignon and your choice between a 2014 Albert Bichot Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru "Les Sorbets" or a 2017 Bouchard Père & Fils Meursault 1er Cru "Genevrières".

(The Tokyo-bound Kyo-Kaiseki menu adds two small bottles of Takara Sake's Sho Chiku Bai Junmai Daiginjo Yamadanishiki.)

Wedgwood dinner setttings are included in the top first class package.

You also get to keep the supplied tableware, which includes a 12-piece Wedgewood bone china set (the same as you'd see in Singapore Airlines' first class suites), a six-piece Lalique crystalware set, plus Lalique amenity kits, Singapore Airlines pyjamas and slippers.

This can be pared back to exclude the tableware and even the Champagne, at prices from $410 to $760 – again, those are based on a meal for two people – with the business class experiences from $265 to $400 (including tableware).

Not available outside Singapore, unfortunately!

So it’s no longer a glorified pub meal 😂😂 it’s a great idea given the current circumstances and a good side hustle. Would be good if they started it in Australia.
