With so many excellent products out there how poorly competitive is Qantas'? Their a330 product is now as good as the rest of the pack but the a380?

What are your thoughts?

Qantas is definitely not the worst.

Air France has A380 business class seats that largely resemble Qantas.

And how about BA? Brrr... Qantas A380 business beats BA hands down.

doesn't airfrance have angle flat seats on the A380?
and I'm pretty sure korean has angle flat seats on their A380 to (although this might have changed)
also malaysia air has pretty similar seats to qantas as does lufthansa

i actually prefer EK 777 J seating to the a380 - the a380 are too cocoon like or coffin like for me - and i agree BA a380 far worse than qf a380 even with the seating config

EK J class seats are woeful.

Very confined and poorly designed with almost the same seat width  as economy. There's plenty of other  Airlines with vastly better seats to choose from so I give EKI a big miss.

Air France hands down is the worst business class product i have ever come across. It is now uncompetitive compared to the rest of the market and even makes Qantas look good.

Have you tried the new AF business product on their 773? excellent flat bed, great food and entertainment and to Europe can sometimesfind aus to SIN on Singapore then sin to cdg on AF for around 5K, great product and great price. Shame about the lounge at CDG that is appalling.

The poor quality QF product in J really limits their appeal to the USA and Europe. I don't want to burn my hard earned FF points for those products, the new A333 is good however.

Really time for QF to upgrade their A380 product, I appreciate that there is talk about changing it to the a333 product but this cannot come soon enough!

Any airline that still offers 2-2-2 config with no direct aisle or full flat in J class has to be 20years behind the game.

I consider 1-2-1 and direct aisle access now pretty much the baseline when booking J class for myself. Otherwise what's the point for paying that much more on a mid-long haul flight, right??

20 years ago we hadn't even got to the angled lie flat beds - you's still be in the recliners. 2-2-2 was pretty much state of the art when the Qantas A380 was introduced.

Took license to exaggerate a little. But you get my point though!

Get your point on 20 years ago. But 10 years ago EK was still operating a 777 MEL-SIN-DBX with 2-3-2 recliners in J and 2-2-2 recliners in F

When travelling with someone though, I quite like the 2-2-2 layout of say QR or QF. Plenty of room infront and nice to be next to someone. If stepping oversomeone is such an issue, then choose the middle seats.

Totally agree. EK A380 J seat is a bit cramped and they need a refurb, so many have worn carpet

Surely you are not serious, EK 777 J seat is so uncomfortable.

BA are the worst, packed in like chickens, sitting backwards, stepping over people and over priced
