Qantas will keep Perth T1 international lounge open after 2018

IN BRIEF | Qantas will continue to operate its international lounge at Perth Airport's T1 terminal for partner airlines including Oneworld members Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways, even after an all-new Qantas International Lounge at Perth's T3 terminal opens its doors in early 2018.

Qantas intends to move its overseas flights to the upgraded T3 terminals, which will cater for international as well as domestic flights.

The star of that show will of course be the non-stop Perth-London Boeing 787 service, tickets for which will go on sale in early April, but Qantas' Perth-Singapore and Perth-Auckland flights will also run from T3.

"Qantas will continue to operate this lounge at Perth International Airport for its partner airline passengers," a Qantas spokesperson confirmed to Australian Business Traveller.

Indeed, the T1 lounge is currently being spruced up with new carpet and refreshed upholstery and decor.

The work is being carried out in stages, so the lounge will remain open during the refurb, which should be completed in early May.
